Matthew Matt James was conceived in North Carolina, on the 5th December 1991. The parents of Matthew Matt James are Manny James and Patty James. His mother is caucasian and his father Nigerian. When he graduated from Sanderson High School, in 2010 he enrolled at Wake Forest University and obtained the Bachelor's degree in Economics. James gained fame when the show The Bachelorette as a reality TV celebrity. James was chosen in 2020 as the bachelor of the year for The Bachelor season 25, becoming the show's debut African American male star. The season premiered later that year. James seemed to be the perfect match to be the role because he has an attractive, well-rounded and tall personality. Rachael Krokconnell won the show because James decided to enter into an affair with her. James teamed up with popular professional dancer Arnold in 2021 and competed on season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. James as well as Arnold placed 12th.
